This is the first release for the purl-spec project. It creates a baseline for the PURL specification files in alignment with the publication of ECMA-427 Standard 1st Edtion / December 2025.
The files in the docs/standard folder match the content of the corresponding clauses of the Standard except for some formatting differences. See docs/README-docs.md for the mapping to ECMA-427 clauses.
In any case the official text is from ECMA-427.
We are using SemVer for purl-spec releases and will be using CalVer in the near future for periodic releases of PURL type and PURL test files. See issue 689 for more information.
For this first release we are not reporting Contributors or a Changelog, but we will do so for future releases.
