Drive randomly unmounting and losing connection

My 4TB_HDD drive is randomly unmounting or disconnecting. Sometimes it just unmounts, and double-clicking on it brings it back. However, other times it loses connection and rebooting is the only way to restore connectivity.

The odd part is that both of my SSHFS drives are on the same system. The 3TB and 4TB are in the same Linux machine and have the same IP address, but the 3TB drive never loses connectivity, while the 4TB drive frequently does. Note that I am rebooting the Windows system; the Linux system never needs to reboot, though I have tried that. It’s not unmounting internally or anything.

I am unsure how to start debugging this or where to look. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, there’s definitely enough memory, CPU power, and network bandwidth available.

However, one of the SSHFS processes is using 1,023.3 MB and is holding, which looks odd as that’s very close to 1,024.0. That looks like a crash, which may be related to this #59 (comment) suspected memory leak. However, why would one drive crash and the other not, and consistently the same drive?

So I ran a test and killed the process using 1,023.3 MB of memory. Double-clicking on the drive restarted the process without a reboot, so it’s definitely related to what appears to be a memory leak related crash.
