Follow selected keyboard layout by default

I don't know if it has to be configured, but in my less than a minute testing I did, keystroke didn't follow the keyboard layout I was using. I use a custom layout called Halmak:

 wlrbzñqudj´+
 shnt,.aeoi{}
<fmvc-gpxky

but keystroke interpreted it as if I was using standard US qwerty.

It would help if you tell me what compositor you are using, and how the compositor gets the layout (socket, etc).

I guess It's my fault then. I'm using mutter (wayland gnome)
